Winter Fun in the Lungau Region

Altogether a gondola, ten chairlifts and thirty cable lifts carry you into an alpine winter landscape of fairytale charm. The Lungau is a real paradise for beginners and experienced winter sport enthusiasts. Cross-country skiing:
Enjoy cross-country skiing in the unspoilt nature against the backdrop of a snow-covered forests and valleys with sun shining in your face – that’s pure relaxation. And at the same time breathing clear, healthy air and admiring the scenic countryside. There are also approximately 70 kilometres of skating tracks for skating enthusiasts. Altogether, the Lungau cross-country network encompasses 150 kilometres of well prepared tracks. 

Mountain biking and Cycling:
The sun drenched region in the south of Salzburg offers the perfect condition for a memorable mountain biking or cycling adventure. For pleasure cyclists there is a well developed and signposted cycle track network in the valleys. Cycle along creeks and through forests amid the fabulous Lungau scenery. Accessible, continuous, uniformly labelled mountain bike routes, covering a total length of over 560 km on diversified routes in Lungau’s mountains are waiting to be discovered.

Walking:
Discover the marvelous Lungau mountain world. Many marked traveling routes leads the walker past gushing streams and crystal-clear mountain lakes. A special experience is a tour through the Riedingtal valley Nature Reserve or the Hohe Tauern National Park. There you can enjoy the untouched landscapes walking along picturesque paths, the healthy climate and escape thus from the everyday stress of modern living.

Obertauern

The Obertauern skiing region in Salzburg Province, Austria - Skiing from 1,639 to 2,350 meters above sea level. High snow probability and superior piste conditions make Obertauern in Salzburg County the ideal location for your skiing holiday in Austria.

60 miles of ski slopes can be skied from end of November until beginning of May. The Obertauern skiing region has plenty of blue runs (35 miles), ensuring a fantastic skiing holiday for families with children. Moreover, you won't need a car! All ski-runs in the Obertauern region are linked, and clearly labled to help you find your way.

There are several speed traps for experienced skiers and beginner-level speed skiers - fun and adventure on the slopes are guaranteed.
