Skiing, ice climbing and snowshoeing in Heiligenblut on the Grossglockner mountain

Heiligenblut, located in the heart of Nationalpark Hohe Tauern nature reserve, is the place to enjoy winter sport at its best. An impressive line of snowcapped peaks including Austria’s highest mountain, the Grossglockner, rising to 3,798 meters, unspoiled nature and idyllic rural surroundings provide the perfect setting for your holidays any time of the year.
At an elevation of 1,301 to 2,984 meters, with 55 km of varied slopes and short waiting times at lifts, winter sports enthusiasts find ideal conditions to indulge in their favorite pastime.
The Grossglockner Bergbahnen take you up to an elevation of more than 2,900 m. From December to April 13 lifts (8 T-bar lifts, 2 chair lifts, 2 cable cars, 1 tunnel train) and an extensive network of slopes are at the skiers' disposal.
The skiing region Grossglockner provides perfectly manicured slopes for skiers of all abilities as well as backcountry trails for more experienced snow users. Perfect climatic conditions and modern artificial snow machines extend the skiing season well into spring.

Heiligenblut has a variety of good restaurants and typical Austrian skiing lodges at the guests’ disposal. As a special service, use of the parking garage and the ski bus transport are free.

Heiligenblut is a popular place for families and provides fun and action for kids and their parents. Little ones can spend their days at the “Snowland” and “Bobo Kid’s Club” while their parents enjoy a peaceful time on the slopes.
Off-piste activities include cross country skiing, tobogganing, ice skating, snowshoeing, snowrafting, backcountry ski tours, hiking and ice climbing, tennis, squash, horse sleigh rides or a joyful evening in one of the region’s cozy lodges and restaurants.
