TWO VILLAGES, ONE UNIQUE LANDSCAPE
The Wildkogel Arena encompasses the holiday villages of Neukirchen am Großvenediger and Bramberg am Wildkogel. Fabulously located in the 1,800 km² Hohe Tauern National Park, it is thus also in one of the most beautiful landscapes on earth. The original natural landscape of the largest national park in mid-Europe is characterised by the valleys formed during the last ice-age, sizeable delta cones, forests of larch and fir alongside burbling glacial streams. Complementing this is the agricultural landscape which, for centuries, has been farmed by hand.
SUSTAINABLE TRAVEL AND HOLIDAYS
The Wildkogel Arena has long been a part of the ‘Alpine Pearls’ cooperation. This comprises 25 tourist communities across the whole of the Alps which prioritise environmentally-friendly and sustainable travel. Moreover, the area received the ‘Umwelt Blatt’ environmental award in 2014 and the Energy Globe in 2015. The new national park card, ‘MOBIL’ enables you to travel with all public transport in the region, as well as offering free use of or entry into 60 attractions including the summer cable cars, the Großglockner and the Gerlos passes, the national park centre and the Krimml waterfalls.
STRONG FAMILY TIES
This is a ski region that has made every effort to ensure that every member of the family has the skiing holiday of their dreams. The 75 kms of piste on the Wildkogel-Arena guarantee the right slope for every ability, and there is sufficient snow from December to Easter. Wildkogel Arena with its twin holiday villages Neukirchen am Großvenediger and Bramberg am Wildkogel is situated in the Hohe Tauern National Park. As if this wasn’t proof enough, the ski resort won first place amongst Austrian family ski resorts in the international ski resort awards of 2014/15 and is one of the top ski resorts on skiresort.de.
